Online Workshop/Webinar
Sunday, September 20, 2020
10 AM – 11:30 AM (pacific)
Integrated Pest Management or IPM is an ecosystem-based strategy that focuses on long-term prevention of pests or their damage through a combination of techniques. IPM minimizes risks to human health, beneficial and nontarget organisms, and the environment. Dan will discuss how to use IPM to approach pest issues in your home garden and, of course, on fruit trees.
Dan Berry recently retired as nursery manager at The Huntington. While at The Huntington he created and implemented an IPM system for the famed rose garden, collaborated with researchers at UC Riverside for invasive shot hole borer and worked as part of a collaborative horticultural team with professionals at Disneyland, The Getty, San Diego Zoo and other institutions.
